Thoroughly enjoyed their chilli wontons and Roasted duck with rice. Note the duck is served with bone, so even though it is delicious, if you’re not used to bone with your meat, then order something else.

I was really impressed with the food at Mrs Chew’s Chinese Kitchen. The Kung Pao Chicken was absolutely delicious – full of flavour with just the right level of spice. I also tried the iced tea which was really refreshing and paired perfectly with the meal. There’s a great variety of dishes on the menu, so there’s definitely something for everyone. The cherry on top is that everything on the menu is Halal!
Service:
The customer service was friendly and efficient. Staff were helpful and everything was served promptly, which made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable.
Atmosphere:
Located in Grand Central, the restaurant has a modern and relaxed vibe. It’s a convenient spot whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or sitting down for a proper meal. Clean, comfortable, and well-organised.

Just got back from Mrs Chew’s Chinese with my daughter and as always, it was an absolute treat. This place has become a staple for us — I barely even glance at the menu anymore because I already know what I’m getting.
My go-to? The Kung Pao Chicken — the perfect mix of flavour, spice, and that satisfying crunch. My daughter always gets the Chicken Noodles and finishes every last bite like it’s a competition. We also shared some Chicken Dumplings (soft, juicy, and packed with flavour), and of course, washed it all down with their refreshing Iced Tea. That’s our usual order and honestly, it never misses.
What makes Mrs Chew’s even better is the staff. Every single time, they’re so kind, friendly, and genuinely helpful. You can tell they really care about the customer experience, and it makes all the difference.
My only wish? That they’d open a location in Selly Oak. I’d be there so often they’d probably have my usual ready the second I walk in.

I was really impressed with the food at Mrs Chew’s Chinese Kitchen at New Street, Birmingham. We ordered Chicken Xiao Long Bao – it was the starter I enjoyed the most. We also had Chicken Mushroom Bao (forgot to take a photo), Sichuan Chilli Oil Wontons and Dan Dan Noodles made with fresh spinach noodles. The noodles were spicy, but the spinach gave them a refreshing flavour – the combination of heat and freshness was amazing. We also ordered Roast Duck on Rice – it was top-notch!

Would highly recommend! I always order the roast duck soup noodles, so hearty and filling. Great portion size too. Also highly recommend the prawn dumplings and char siew bao for starters. The service is great as well and the staff are welcoming and friendly.

The manager, Ben was friendly and welcoming from the moment I walked in. He helped me choose what to order with genuine recommendations based on what I liked, and he checked in just enough to make sure everything was going well, without being overbearing.
Environment:
It's cozy, clean. The lighting is warm, the seating is comfortable.

Absolutely wonderful experience, the food came up so fast, the workers were absolutely sweating their backs of hard work, yet still extremely friendly, A kind asian lady was kind enough to even recommend and share opinions on dishes, will 100% come here again, the food, tell me about it, like something i never tasted before, the sar chiu chicken with noodles was extra-ordinary.

After a long day of shopping, and being hungry. I got this recommendation on Google map. I had Roast duck which comes with a side. I enjoyed my meal! It was soft, well cooked. I went to use the rest room and got back to my meal, so service was on time.

Service provided by Andy is always very good. He is friendly and always greets with a big smile even on the busiest days. Its not hard to spot him as he looks like the Asian version of Robert Pattison or a bit like Chuck Bass from gossip girl.

This was my second time eating here. I ordered spring rolls and beef fried rice it was lovely and very filling. I also got the homemade lemon ice tea which was delicious!! My boyfriend ordered the sweet and sour chicken with rice. He said he really enjoyed it and the chicken was cooked perfectly.
